Almost certainly a unique identifying hash being used for the transactions within that blockchain. Hell it could even be on its own private system.

Idk I feel like whatever the solution, our bois would have thought that through to where it wouldn't matter if [they] tried. If anything maybe it'll incriminate them even more.
