This is a street in Venezuela. That’s money in the gutter. It’s worthless. Welcome to socialism.

Not long ago I lived in Colombia for a long time, lots of Venezuelan refugees. They used to go to restaurants with fat piles of their currency and ask people to take however much they want for any amount of Colombian pesos in return. Got myself some souvenirs and helped some people out.
I'd see Venezuelan families on every major street corner selling candies to get whatever they can. Husband, wife, child. These people truly wanted and needed a better life and I respected that they were at least making an attempt to get money.
Obviously they weren't all good, upstanding immigrants and they brought crime. But it is refugees who actually needed a new place. Mind you, Colombian/Venezuelan culture is very similar. Same language. Used to be same country. With all of these similarities, they still brought crime, and the Colombian people still hate the fact that millions of them came over.
