I put this story out in a few comment sections on Telegram and got this response back from a supposed local in Maricopa:

This is 100% legit comment, NOT a LARP. I lived in Maricopa Co for 15 years. I have friends and family there now. I was in Denver for the last 5 years (moved to Mohave Co AZ 3 days ago) and when I told her there was a carnival tomorrow, she argued with me at first because that never happens there this time of year because of the heat.

This is fucky as fuck.
