Except this bill allows posts to be removed for violating TOS, and while you can't permanently ban, you can suspend an account for up to 14 days. So, all a social media site has to do is suspend the candidates they don't like for 14 days, wait for their next post after the 2 weeks are up, and suspend again, keeping it up as long as they like without any penalty.
Maybe I'm wrong, but this bill seems like a giant virtue signal without any real substance.
Theyre already doing that. I think i have maybe a month total unbanned between 2 accounts.
My main account comes off a 30 day.not even 15 minutes later, another 30 day.got off that one, lasted a week,3 days for a post from last year. Then account disabled cuz of a news article.
My 2nd account is in 30 days 3 days after ending a 30 day.
Thereby making my point that this bill is useless.
Laura Loomer makes the same case. GOP is mostly controlled opposition. Is DeSantis too?
It doesn't seem like it at this point. We'll have to wait and see, though, still far too early to tell. He seems like, if anything, an opportunist, with mild conservative values -- but again, we really don't have enough information. Whatever he is, he's certainly a politician.
