I had stopped a few times on The Mall to take video and when I arrived a crowd was already forming on the lawn past the fence, so our recollections of the timing seem to match up. Even after the curfew warning the crowd kept growing as people worked their way up the bleachers pushing the cops back until they seemed to just give up after an hour or so. I heard some people talking about someone getting inside but didn't witness it myself and never got around to the front as I thought the action was all happening in the back where the crowd was growing as that's the direction most people were approaching from.
