When you see an informative meme, or someone saying something you don't know to be true....if you then ask for a source without first having tried to find one yourself, you're still a sheep.
If you tried and failed, ask for a source.
If you didn't try at all and ask for a source, you're a sheep. Plain and simple. You're still forming your own mind by the work of another. This weakens you.
Don't beg for sauce like a sheep; hunt down that sauce yourself like a LION.
Asking someone else to do something that you could easily do yourself is a sure sign of being a fag/sheep.
Not necessarily. I’ll often ask for a source first and then research the source and try to corroborate if possible. Many times there is no source, it’s people just repeating bullshit. Why waste your time researching things you can discredit right off the bat?
Better to search for a source yourself, finding multiple sources to choose from.
If I were a bad actor, I could fuck you up with a source that is 80% correct and 20% wrong, and you'd never know the difference because you used my source, not your own.
You’re talking about two different things, one is asking for a source and another is trusting that source. If you give me a source that is 80% true and 20% bs it’s still on me to analyze it and research that source myself just like it would have been to research the information without knowing your source.
What happened to Patriots is starting to happen here.
Yeah, that's you. How many aren't as intelligent?
How many would read a few things that jive with their beliefs and spread it?
Sure, I agree with you. Like I said people spout crap with zero source most of the time. I just think “don’t trust anything without researching” would be better advice than “don’t ask for a source.”
That being said a sucker is born every minute and I think the best way is for us to debunk the garbage as thoroughly as we can in a reply, when we see it. The reply stays there and will hopefully help others that might have gotten suckered in.
