I gotta tell ya, im really getting worn out with all these announcement pump fakes and big nothing burgers. IM about to just say wake me up when something happens, this shits making me sick. Im just focused on helping during the 2022 Florida elections.
I still believe, but the happening soon side of me is just about dead. Not sure how much talk I can handle, need action.
During the Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989, I was with my dad at our family business about 30 miles from the epicenter, so we really felt it. I had experienced earthquakes before, but it was more along the lines of 'ooh, earthquake'. That day, I remember how it started and my dad was across the room and did the 'ooh' thing. Then it REALLY started to rock and he yelled at me to get out of the back of the building. What I distinctly remember was this roar - I have never heard anything like it, but I knew this time was different. Outside, you could see the waves in the street and the disbelief in people's faces. Thankfully we were fine but it wasn't until we were in the car shortly afterwards and found radio stations were either off the air or operating with limited power that we realized the magnitude. It definitely shakes you (ha ha) and it stays with you for a long time after the fact.
Ever since, even though it was over 30 years ago, when I am in an earthquake, I have a little bit of 'is this it?' because of 1989, specifically because it started off slow and then BOOM! I am always anticipating the other shoe to drop. I have talked with other people who also went through it and my experience is not unique.
I think we have to look at this in the same light. I see the announcements as little earthquakes that are teases, with minor damage but the pressure is building for the Big One. I think the BOOM is going to come when we least expect it.
