I think this is part of them provoking until something happens and they can blame the right on being violent, even if it is a guy defending his life against an armed mob. Then they start the next wave of propaganda.

Similarly I feel like this could be a play by the police. "You want to defund us? Look what happens if we don't step in." But this is nutso PDX so I doubt it. They've just lost so many of the good cops thru attrition.
