In that verse, St. Paul does not say that Scripture alone should be followed.
He says that it is “profitable”. Profitable means useful, but not sufficient.
Second, at the time that this epistle was written (between 64 to 68 AD) the Bible as we know it today was not in existence. The last book of the New Testament was written about 100 AD and the canon of Scripture was not compiled until the 4th century. The Scripture that St. Paul was referring to was the Old Testament or the Torah.
The Scripture that St. Paul was referring to was the Old Testament or the Torah.
The scripture you gave does not justify Bible-only theology.
None of that has anything to do with that verse meaning what you say it means.
That scripture verse does NOT justify scripture alone. There is ZERO chance that's what the apostle was referring to.
Many heresiarchs down through history have used the Bible to justify their heresy. This is no different.
Your interpretation of this verse comes from YOUR perceived authority. You have no authority to interpret the Bible. You are not a Pope.
Jesus never said scripture alone, either.
Show me where it says scripture ALONE is the authority?
You're trying to twist this into some kind of red herring.
Nice try.
I'll repeat to make sure you see it:
Show me where it says scripture ALONE is the authority?
