i absolutely hate the sign language shit... i WISH it could be optional... something we could disable

but i think there is a reasonable logic behind it. the automatic captions are dogshit and live transcription is not cheap. a signer is probably 10x cheaper than a transcriber (srs)

I’ve worked with Microsoft AI for captions and it’s incredibly good.

Especially since no one is actually at these speeches and they’re televised, this is 100% virtue signaling.

i guess english is probably the best your gonna do for captions

but just my experience... i do watch a significant number of videos in portuguese and the automatic captions are absolutely abysmal.... but if you're telling me they can at least be good in english then i will believe you

im sure there is an element of virtue signaling but im not entirely sold
