I've crossed the Mississippi river at many places. It's not like one rail crossing in Atlas Shrugged. Trucks can go east/west using longer routes.

You're right. My first husband was a trucker. He always took the shortest route; but sometimes he had to take the long way. I guess I forgot about that.
