It seems like every politician in DC bends to the influence of Israel. Why, given the obvious overreach by the Israeli govt on Palestinians, do these people continue to support them? You would think there would be a denouncing of Israel in the Washington establishment but instead many politicians are aligning themselves with the people doing the oppressing.

Dual meanings exist. The "Israel" of the Bible are God's chosen people. Jacob, father of the twelve tribes name was changed to "Israel". There were other bloodlines of the state of Israel and Judah also, but not considered "Israel". They were scattered all over the globe. For example: Tribe of Dan. One of the things that the tribe of Dan did was to travel the seas. The bible mentions they were a seafaring people. Everywhere they went, they wrote their father's name. They even scratched them on mountains and rocks everywhere. DN....today, we can think of the river Danube and know that the tribe of Dan named that in the past, or we can think of the (Dan)ish people and know they are the tribe of Dan. How about Jacob's son Joseph that was sold into slavery in Egypt. We know that he had twin sons, Ephraim and Manasseh. There's lots of "begats" in the Bible that's really confusing until you really want to know more and you set out on a adventure to find the truth. Lots of nations around the world are the true "Israel", we just don't know it yet.
