They are not locus, most do not even eat while they are above ground, they just climb up trees, molt out of their ground form, make tons of noise, mate and lay eggs then die off. Then the babies come out of the ground 13-17 years later, depending on the brood, Is what I have read on them, anyway. I take it that this Brood X is one of the bigger ones. But, it all fits in IMO. lol.
