I assumed they did this as the states were making separate mandates not allowing masks - and that is a conflict of what CDC is telling us (MAKING THEM LOOK STUPID).
Remember HIPAA? It is NONE of their business if I have been vaccinated or not. NO ONE'S BUSINESS but my GOD, my spouse, and my doctor - It is NO ONE else's business.
The Privacy Rule standards address the use and disclosure of individuals’ health information (known as “protected health information”) by entities subject to the Privacy Rule. These individuals and organizations are called “covered entities.” The Privacy Rule also contains standards for individuals’ rights to understand and control how their health information is used.
STANDARDS FOR INDIVIDUALS' RIGHTS TO UNDERSTAND AND CONTROL HOW THEIR HEALTH INFORMATION IS USED.
Someone mentioned HIPPA rules do not cover vaxinated status in some (many, all?) Cases.
If a company wants to know your state of vaccination, they can request that, according to them.
Certainly schools already do this now. They request vax cards from you when you transfer from school to school, and when you do sports.
Likewise hospitals require vax records for employment, and that you get flu shots, and other vaxes for employment. Yes, you can get an exemption, but you have to notify them of it.
I 100% agree with you as far as privacy, but it seems there are some places that either are exceptions, or we don't have a correct working knowledge of the reality of the law.
HIPPA is not that difficult actually, It was put in place to protect patients from having their medical information exposed by health care workers to people that have no need for that information. You, as the individual, have the ability to release that information to whomever you wish - or not to. The people requesting said information (employer, school, the stupid Karen at Walmart that sees you without a mask and thinks it's her right to ask your vax status. etc.) do not have a right to that information but they do have the ability to choose not to associate with you based on that information or on your refusal to provide it. If you don't like their refusal of service/association, you can try to sue them for damages if that can be proven and they will not allow an accommodation. However, the various C-19 "vaccines" cannot be forced on anyone as a condition of employment because they are under the rules of Emergency Use Authorization and there are legal protections outlined for those that suffer damages as a result of not getting the C-19 vaccine and I could assume the same applies to not divulging whether you've taken the C-19 vax or not as well.
I am sure that was written - if that is true - for this purpose. A person working in a Walmart greeter is allowed to ask my vaccination status? F THAT!

Anyone have time to dig into HIPPA law?

Thank you for your reply!
Appreciated.

A sign that trickle down tyranny will be around for much longer than necessary...
