I got lost in Baltimore once and called a coworker who lives in Baltimore for assistance. She gave me directions and warned me to stay away from the "blue light" areas - especially when blinking - she said the lights indicate areas where there is usually a higher crime rate. When going to either JHHC or Mercy, we always get off of I-70 and will take 40 through Baltimore. This route takes you through West Baltimore where you will see a lot of blue lights on the utility poles.
