They were. Our founding fathers and many of our ‘good’ presidents were freemasons as well. I don’t think that automatically makes them evil. How can you know for sure?

A couple thoughts.

• Is it possible that only the highest levels of masonry are satanic? What I have read leads me to believe this is true.

• Is it possible that Freemasonry was, at some point, a “good” organization, but got hijacked and corrupted (like so many others)? What I have read leads me to believe this is true.
