I don't think the fear in children is a good indicator of the nature of vaccines. They scream and cry because they don't like feeling pain, and the anxiety of knowing it is coming is something they have little experience dealing with.

This is not a statement on the value (or lack thereof) of vaccines, it simply points to the relative lack of maturity and emotional experience that children have.
