I had the very same incident take place with my spouse. They didn’t think chemtrails were real. Until I pointed out two planes flying at the same time. One with con trails which disappeared in a short amount of time. Then beside it was a plane clearly leaving a trail behind that didn’t blow in the wind or disappear. I got the response of “oh I see now.” It was apparent they were different. Then I had to mention that their are studies being done by universities on chemtrials. The senate was always investigating. No more doubt in their mind. They are real and it’s used for surveillance IMO.
