This post makes an excellent point. And to yours, it's not about being unable to accept a distasteful reality, but that it would be incredibly illogical to believe that Trump is nefarious.

While Trump certainly has a problem with ego, the assertion he is acting solely to fulfill the desires of that ego, or for personal gain, is clearly untrue. If it were, he NEVER would have run as a Republican, and overnight turned from most beloved icon to most hated man on the planet. By all logic and reason, we ought to be able to trust Trump's intentions -- but it's also healthy to keep in mind that he is not infallible, nor is he impervious to being fooled.
