We can't run if the game is rigged. It's even harder to run in local governments in smaller towns. You want to see corruption? Become part of a small town government.

Here's my two cents, form militias, help out local people/businesses, and garner support from the masses. I can guarantee you that armed militias popping up all over the nation would send a stronger message than basically playing their own rigged game by getting into government.
