Smiling in public

Today I went grocery shopping. More than half the people were not wearing masks. Of all the people I passed only 2 made direct eye contact with me at two separate times. I smiled at both of them. No smile back. The first person I just felt awkward because there was no reciprocated smile. The second person looked mad I smiled at them. Anyone else notice this or am I going with the I'm just crazy escuse?

Keep on smiling! The world needs more smiles strong the world. Maybe it's just taking people some time to get used to it again.
