Ise one, or the other, butbusing both is literally destroying both compounds... Vinegar is acidic and can help break down certain things, and baking soda is basic, which acts like sandpaper and also can help break down other things. Using both at the same time neutralizes both compounds into useless water and a small bit of abrasive solids...
