Hi Fren! I'll have to show this to my buddy and his wife (who is from SA). My buddy sees a lot of parallels to what's happening here compared to the apartheid days and race wars (he told me SA designed the Apartheid after the American segregationist laws of the early century). Godspeed!
Do your politicians actually pay attention to the voice of the people? I'm so skeptical that anything like this actually leads anywhere. Generally when things of this nature are brought about, it seems the politicians have already made up their minds and the "voice of the people" is just a formality on the road to steamroll their rights.
Mostly I'd agree with you, but in this instance DearSA isn't just some petition group. They have quite an excellent track record of stopping shit like this if enough people get involved. Most notable example was a bill that would have regulated hate speech. They stopped it in its tracks. So absolutely yes please pass it on. It will at least give the government pause if they think X amount of people are armed and will not willingly give up their guns.
Look to Venezuela to understand what is going on here. Government wants to start expropriating land and pensions, but too many people still have guns.

Will do, thank you!
