I don't think this means give your earnings away to the king. Your labor is not Caesar's to begin with, else you are a slave, and I don't think Jesus was a huge fan of slavery...

Give to Caesar what is his: Nothing. Your labor and fruits of your labor are yours

Give to God what is his: Your heart, body, and soul
