Neither my grandfather nor my father were buried in a veterans cemetery so I had no idea. They were both buried with their families w/ the veterans foot stone markers only. We have cleaned a lot of headstones and documented several old cemeteries and I had never seen that symbol on one. Learn something every day:)
I wonder why the symbol on his headstone? All the surrounding ones have the cross on them. When was this?
When my veteran father died and was buried in a vet cemetary, you had a choice of only 3 or 4 symbols for the headstone including the infinity.
