My work has implemented a policy where only vaccinated employees can remove their masks. If you choose not to declare your vaccination status, or declare that you're unvaxed then you have to continue wearing the mask (and possibly stand out among the crowd), or face disciplinary action - possibly including termination.
My question is: do I wait it out, or risk speaking up and possibly losing my job? I don't want to lie about my status or circumvent the policy and feel like I'm watching over my shoulder at all times. I don't want to take part in the lies anymore and I shouldn't have to feel ostracized for that. I know AFLD has resources, but I think I should talk to someone within the company first.
I don't have tons of people I can talk to about this IRL, so I'm really hoping I can get some helpful words here.
This kind of thinking doesn't exist in a vacuum and a company that's willing to go this route with the injections likely has similar attitudes about a lot of things, which is not an environment I'd want to spend so much of my time in.
