There is local corruption here, especially with the electric company charging people $1200 a month.
The town has not seen any improvements here for 8 years and the place continuously looks like a shithole.
The internet provider here has a monopoly and pays the city a certain amount every year to have exclusivity over lines here. The internet is very bad and we have a fiber provider but they are not allowed to dig lines in city limits. Only the cable provider.
The church here is corrupt and everyone is very niche and runs a tight group. Last year, the church spent 3 million on music equipment. But interesting enough, the pastor has a new Tesla and is building a new home on 30 acres..
We are talking about a church with maybe 300 people attending. There's no need for that type of spending and most of the money comes from people attending and seems to end up in the wrong pockets rather than church programs.
Lots of corruption, judges, police etc.
I want to clean it up.
What do I need to know to run for Mayor and what do I need to be prepared for? I plan on doing this with my own funds and am already committed to it.
The place needs to be cleaned up and everyone here on the local level has been in the same position for nearly 30 years.
I am 100% sure I will run
Let me know if you have experience and I would love to hear from you.
It's time to redpill the town.
This is a good post. I’d add in a specific focus on numbers and knowing the local election laws.
Numbers means: How many votes do I need to beat the incumbent?
Laws means: How do I get on the ballot and avoid getting accused of violating election rules when campaigning or receiving donations.
I see the political elite using both these tricks to trap new comers all the time where I live.
