Yes they are. This is exactly what they did with the drug that killed my sweet healthy 5-year-old lab 12 years ago. The FDA said they were seeing concerns with labrador retrievers and the drug in 1997 and Pfizer did their "own study" with 23 labradors and said that they all did fine. We got a hold of information in our class-action lawsuit that showed Pfizer knew that this drug was harmful to labradors and their cousins Golden retrievers and they hushed it. My sweet boy didn't even need to be on the drug that killed him. He was misdiagnosed probably because the vet was so focused on prescribing the drug that killed him due to the incentives she was receiving from Pfizer. They are sick sick people.
I am so sorry to hear that! Labs and goldens are my favorites! My yellow lab started limping out of the blue with both of his hind legs. No injury or anything. The vet was like well he is a lab so he probably tore both of his ACLs despite having normal exams and normal imaging. She was so hyperfocused on the ACL diagnosis so she could prescribe Rimadyl. When he was dying we found out he had Lyme, that is what caused the limping, it is very common in our area. A cheap bottle of antibiotics would have gotten him better.
Rimadyl, Carprofen is the generic. It is being kept alive through tradenames and there are a lot of different names for the same drug. Unfortunately, I do not know all the names they have for it so I do not give my dogs any NSAID's period.
Yup! They were both on Rimadyl. Pfizer makes that shit? My Goldens back legs just stopped working one day. Literally like she was walking the day before than all of a sudden she was paralyzed in her back legs.
Pfizer is evil.
