No, they cannot play that game. The president of the USA publicly stated that the election was a fraud, and there was visible evidence to support that fact, and they certified it anyways. When the commander in chief says something like that, it is the duty of the senate, electors, and other officials to follow the lead of the president, not second guess him. They knowingly certified fraud.
