Thank you for sharing your story and I'm so sorry you went through that.

In March, I had a discussion with my sister who is a doctor AND went through chemo herself. And we were on the same page about chemo while my Mom was in the hospital recently. My sister and BIL were terrified to be around people. I took them into a sandwich shop and both were masked. She inhaled and commented: "oh my goodness, it smells so wonderful in here!"

I paused, smiled, and looked over, "thank you for pointing that out."

Later in the hospital, my BIL got SO angry at me for not wearing a mask everywhere. He mentioned, "if you cared about your sister or mother, then you would have one on...."

I awakened to the medical field right then and there.

But this is what I'm not understanding about those who stay in the medical field. Do they think they are not indoctrinated?

I felt that feeling of despair once in academia. But now I feel hope with regards to education and research. Other outcomes can be possible outside of the limitations set by the system. My political great awakening started in October 2020 and fully realized itself on January 6th in DC.
