I happen to think millions of Jews were killed, but thank you for mentioning the British and American killing of German civilians. No one should ever forget that, or the much worse Soviet war crimes.
There was a fairly recent review by German historians of the Dresden bombings, which supposedly concluded that only 20,000 Germans were killed. I think the historians were literally terrified to conclude anything else, and I doubt they included homeless refugees in the death count.

^ The Pilecki report is a prime example - the Polish underground went to great pains to collect the information for the report and send it to the West. The allies more or less ignored it until they couldn't.
And that isn't even looking at the Axis.
