I'm not impressed. When Lt Gov Dan Patrick called for a Special Session afterwards, Abbott said 'that would be goofy." In reality, I'm sure the Dems are making some extra bank from China or whoever else is paying them. Abbott is just playing the fence here when he should be helping Texas GOP actually FIGHT.
I get the inside play emails from local patriot clubs, the Texas Minute, etc... Most inside the conservative activist community see Abbott as someone who is trying to stifle any grassroots momentum we have and keep the Bush RINOs in power over the Lonestar State. Abbot & crew are essentially in a behind-the-scenes battle with Texas GOP Chairman Allen West, who is the REAL patriot leader in Texas.
Would you prefer he simply allow them to walk out like the Killer B's anytime they don't like a bill?
I agree he isn't a Desantis, but at least he's doing something to help us fight the left.,unlike many Governors.
He stated he'll call them back and make them vote, so chill with your doomer replies, at least it is something to fight the left with!
What? Give me a break man, I'm not dooming. Saying that I think Abbott is a clever RINO Sand TX can do better isn't dooming, sheesh. Sorry for being a day behind on the news, didn't know he was doing the special session after al when I made the original comment.
But shit I'm not backin off on Abbott either. Guy locked down our state suddenly on July 3rd and declared a mask mandate. Sorry, but that's not what I want from a Republican governor, and frankly it's not even close to "conservative" or "liberty," so it irks me that we can claim to be all about freedom and then hold up someone as a hero just because they are slightly less of a dictator than others.
He knows how I feel, I told his ass on the phone once lol. Maybe he is trying to step it up, we'll see.
Every Gov shut down their states when we didn't know how big a hoax this was.
He ain't perfect by any standard, but at least he is working to fix the wrongs he did.
We could be a lot worse off like many, many other states.
