This is far from the first time they've walked out.

Does anyone else remember when they ran away to New Mexico? It would have been the late 90s. I tried duckduckgoing and didn't pull anything up.

They ran to Oklahoma, not N.M.. The group called themselves "The Killer B's", and the Governor sent the Texas Rangers(LEOs not MLB team) to snatch them up and haul their sorry asses back to the capital.
