Our blue city, San Antonio, gave their last Covid update tonight. The mayor and the county judge have been giving reports (aka dog & pony shows) since soon after this started. First it was daily, then they added weekends. Then they dropped weekends and finally they were Monday and Thursday. AND now? It’s like covid is gone. They said we still have cases but they blame them on the unvaccinated. I think the mayor just waited for an appropriate amount of time after his re-election on May 1.

Well let's see. Cancer and Heart Disease haven't stopped killing the numbers they do over these last few months. Yet few people stop to think about that empirically in their day to day lives. However, if the telLIEvision was to start a daily death count from Cancer and Heart Disease, I wonder what the effect on the brainless consuming population would be.
True. They were also quick to point out that influenza is almost non-existent. Even though no one is testing for it.
Good for you! Gov Inslee is still beating on his dead horse here in WA. The local health and liquor boards work full time threatening local restaurants and bars with fines and violation records who "dared" to reopen their establishments and think they can pass the micromanaging guidelines. Our city (pop. 10,000) ask for volunteers ( Karens and there are a lot) to visit small businesses and take pictures of unmasked customers to be used to impose fine to the businesses. It is still pretty ugly in this county, I think partly because Inslee's oponent for Governor came from this part of Washington. Hanging in here but it is tough.
Ick. I am always thankful that I live in Texas. Our mayor would like to be like that if he could. What kind of Karens volunteer for such a task, anyway?
It seems to be single, middle aged or retired white women who are trying to save us from ourselves. On any given day they can be seen driving downtown with their windows closed and masks on or out walking fully masked. There are very few Karen men and Karens under 50 are not volunteering.
