What if all the need to raise wages to entice people to return to work was just chicanery to backdoor an increase in the minimum wage without actually having to legislate it....

Universal Basic Income (UBI) is supported by large companies like Twitter's Jack Dorsey: https://www.foxbusiness.com/technology/jack-dorsey-3m-mayors-ubi
The Covid Plandemic was an attack on small business as a favor to big business. What better way to destroy our country than to destroy our entrepreneurs? Small business accounts for half of employment in the USA.
UBI would keep the plebes complacent while Big Business ravages the US.
I am not claiming what you are saying is not true. I am trying to comprehend how the average person that may support this justifies to themselves why this is a worthy approach.
Obiviously the average person is not thinking, "Let's do this so Big Business can keep us complacent and ravage the US."
For me personally, UBI is akin to putting more and more oil in the car everytime you want to travel somewhere instead of addressing the cause of the oil leak. It is an admission that our current system is broken.
We already are in a situation where people are not working because they are satisfied with what they get in government benefits and stimmy. UBI would replace "some" work. Of course some people would want that.
Thanks again as you have been patient with me on a couple threads.
As you may have gathered I am skeptical of information emanating from screens as opposed to real life. For example I only know a few people IRL who would be comfortable leeching off of others, but my personal sphere is not large.
The trap seems to be that it is more difficult to convey hard truths than soft lies. Offering someone hand instead of a hand out is portrayed as being cruel in clown world.
