I found out I was pregnant back on January 15th, I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks, apparently it was an atopic ectopic pregnancy and the baby died inside me at 9 weeks, but my body started reacting 2 weeks later. Because it was "early" during the pregnancy my doctor gave me a pill to induce labor aka abortion to clean my uterus from the baby's body.
It was the most painful (physical and emotional) experience in my whole life and while I was at home suffering the pain and expulsing my baby in chunk of blood, I couldn't understand how there are women that willingly go thru that. I was devastated and my husband didn't know how to help me, but being there.
This "abortion pill" is a real curiosity to me, for the following reason.
Mrs Puffitt has been diagnosed with Cushing's Syndrome - an endocrine condition where overproduction of the hormone cortisol in the adrenal glands causes a number of cascading dysfunctions of other endocrine systems and nasty side-effects. So far, doctors have not determined the cause or improved her condition.
The latest twist was prescribing a drug called Mifprestone - aka the abortion pill aka RU486 aka Korlym. The part that I find incredible is that when this drug is used by a woman with a pregnancy that she wants to go away, she is charged $80 for a single dose; the same drug prescribed for Mrs Puffitt was priced at $550 per dose, 1 per day for the foreseeable future, or north of $200,000 per year. The same fuckin pill with the same exact chemicals in it, simply because it is the only drug that company makes, and some sort of agreement with the FDA. That we found a program which somehow reduces the price to $33 per month is another puzzlement for me, but we will take it. I could afford to get these pills at full retail price to treat her for about 4 years before our savings is depleted.
Did I mention that Pharma is a commie rat fuck outfit with the soul of a fuckin pig?
