I will try to keep this as short as possible. I am legal guardian for my 30 year old son on the autism spectrum. His MD (huge city university based hospital) sent a note via mychart about getting the covid vaccine. i politely wrote her back stating that we have compiled hours of research in a 2 inch binder, and we have decided not to get the vaccines. I also mentioned that I hope that our decision did not impact her ability to care for my son in the future. She wrote me back today with information on how important the vaccines are and that we do not know the long term effects of the virus and that all alternative treatments are also "experimental." Then she closed with this: "I am concerned that you may not have the best research available. I continue to be happy to care for (Son's name), but I need you to know that I think this is not a good decision for his health."
I depend on this MD to support guardianship every 2 years. She has taken great care of my son, but I'm concerned that our decision will taint her view of us. I worked on a reply for about a half hour, and my husband finally came in and said to not reply because it will just become a back and forth battle. So I thanked her for her information and that was it.
I am absolutely not changing my mind about these stupid shots, but I feel so frustrated and a little bit hurt by her reply. We can switch doctors, but it's very hard to find a general MD that knows about autism. I guess that I just needed to vent among some like-minded people. Thank you for reading.
Thanks. Glad I am not the only one who thought her comment was snarky. Trying to decide what direction to take.
Stall & delay. Truth is falling out pretty fast lately. Things could change 180 degrees at any moment.
I would contact Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. at his organization.

He or his staff might have invaluable insight on how to proceed.
Thank you. This is a great idea!
