The high cost of a generator that would actually power these energy sucking central air conditioners here is not realistic for a lot of families. Also unpredictability of gas shortages, theres that. So really solar would be the only way to rest easy except now we're really talking massive expense--that many cant afford. No air in az AND nv would kill a large number of ppl. The thought of a power outage is terrifying to us living in the desert
