They are trying to salvage their platform by getting out ahead of the stories they know will break. The puppet masters probably think they will loose some puppets but think they themselves are untouchable.

Election fraud, I can see but not reporting Gates farmland or trump clearing the park for a photo op. Those broke months ago. Just something to keep an eye on for now?
