Make time away (several hours a day and/or several entire days in a row) from anything news related (including GA) to do things you love doing, especially if they're things you can do outside in nature. This gets your entire self (physical, mental and spiritual) focused on things that are (hopefully) peaceful and harmonious, which is great for destressing. It also brings you back to what's important in your personal life and things you have the ability to control/manage. Feeling out of control, as with all things political, contributes to stress and feeling powerless, and focusing on the things we have the ability to control/manage brings us back to our internal center of power.
