My eldest daughter went to Walmart today and while there had noticed many of the shelves were empty. She had worked many years for Walmart (She is a Lowes employee now) and knew a lot of the employees. She asked about the empty shelves and was told that the stock was in the back and would not be put out. Okay, my daughter thought this was kind of strange so I am asking if anyone else had noticed something up with Walmart?

Doesn't make sense... the objective of any store is to sell products and make money.... not hoard it.
Only "essentials" were allowed in Ontario - you could see it but they would not let you buy it.
Common Sense answer you gave doesn't work in ClowNzZ World we live in now
Sorry Brother.
Capital carrying costs for tax purposes maybe. Another theory: the illusion of scarcity may impact buying habits and cause unnecessary buying of higher cost goods for fear of future scarcity. Who knows their motives? Walmart has never been the benchmark of sound business practices. They only function due to the subsidies in the form of EBT and medicaid and the cut throat practices of middling out competing business and strong arming vendors.
