The root cause of diabetes is multi-factorial. I'm no fan of HFCS, but the solution isn't as simplistic as not eating sugar.

PUFA (lipid peroxidation) is a main driver of diabetes. And excess cortisol from too much LPS, cortisol kills pancreatic beta cells. Certain pesticides also kill pancreatic cells. Additionally a lack of specific B vitamins, carrying too much body fat, Iron overload in the liver, a lack of exercise and sunshine.

Not necessarily in that order.
