The only vaccinations I had as a kid were for smallpox and polio. I've only ever seen doctors for birth control and twice for emergency situations (appendicitis and a fractured finger). Fortunately I had really good health insurance for the appendectomy (didn't cost me a cent), but I haven't had health insurance for 20 years (paid for the finger fracture myself). I know on one hand that I'm lucky to be so healthy in my late 60s, but on the other hand I think it has a lot to do with my lifestyle for the last 25, which is low stress, living close to nature, exercise taking care of my small ranch and horses, and eating healthy.
