My family had ABC news on, and I just heard them say that because of the heat wave “People should brace for potential blackouts.” Meant to warn the public of what’s coming with more innocuous reasoning?

Reaching. We have had "blackouts" of power here in SoCal for the 35 years I've lived here, happens almost every summer. Particularly in drought years like this one. There were blackouts in the Texas State owned and maintained grid last winter, remember?
Totally fair. Just keeping people aware because we know to look for signs of upcoming blackouts. Could be nothing beyond the norm, but just thought that it might be relevant. We've seen things like this before where government agencies sent out social media warning about black outs, and obviously those didn't turn out to be anything. I still think it's useful to note those.
