Yeah, if I remember correctly, there's different schools of thought on how to "properly" pronounce certain words. In a nutshell, that's how we get Caesar turning into Kaiser.

The history of the letters V and W are actually quite interesting.. I was curious after reading this post and thinking about how German W's are typically pronounced like V's.
