Do Stamps tell a story? I guess they do.

Another observation: There no longer is a declared value present.
In Europe/ EU, you can even design your own stamp, with a declared value of 1 (domestic) 2: international UNITS! So, no Euro, Dollar, or whatever. No, UNITS.
It implies quite a lot, especially in light of the amended UPU contracts, where it is geared towards SDR: special drawing rights.
Also, they can change the cost of domestic first class mail, and not need to change the stamps. You 'win' a very small victory when the forever stamp you bought at 50 cents is now selling for 52 cents (or whatever) and you can still use it without buying a 2 cent stamp (and all the inconvenience that brings). And, I've heard the forever's are just for domestic, because international postage requires some sort of cost/units on them (not significant enough a topic for me to try to find sauce).
