Yes, the papers that allegedly proved the existence of a novel pathogen were fraudulent, as is the entire field of virology, germ theory, and the basic assumptions of the industrialized medical system (that germs and other "bugs" cause disease, as opposed to understanding that illness comes from a generalized state of being unwell).
