Absolutely. Most of our military successes have come from misdirection. For example in desert storm we took Kuwait by putting the marines in the water off the coast and kept them pinned in the city while the army rolled up the flank and pulled off stuff like 73 easting and the highway of death. WW2 d day Patton commanded a fake army. Midway the fake comms about the water purifier exposed enemy codes. The list goes on forever.
