Team of workers had been there many days assessing the building for earthquake readiness, eye witness says they place large equipment on roof lifted with a crane. Eye witness claim that they heard thunder like sounds before it came down but there was no storm.

How common are earthquakes in Florida? Surely not like California? It might be possible to have them anywhere but I don't think my state has any building earthquake codes. Seems suspect unless FL has them. I think hurricane readiness would be higher on the list.
