All these weeks (months?) into the AZ audit and I still do not know who is actually doing this audit. Is it a legally binding and legitimate audit (be legitimate I mean done in the proper fashion, through the proper legal channels)?

Can anyone provide any sources that show the who/what/how/why of this AZ audit?
